Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
How the Child Care Subsidy works
The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is an Australian Government payment that helps eligible families with the cost of approved child care. It is paid directly to the centre and passed on to you as a reduction in your fees, so you pay the difference — often called the “gap fee”.
Apply through myGov
Families apply for CCS through their Centrelink online account, linked to myGov. Services Australia assesses your eligibility.
Your subsidy percentage
Your CCS percentage depends mainly on your family’s combined income. Most families still pay a gap fee.
The 3 Day Guarantee
From 5 January 2026, eligible families can access at least 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight — about three days a week — and some families can access up to 100 hours.

Start Strong fee relief
The NSW Government’s Start Strong program provides fee relief for eligible children in the years before school who attend a participating long day care service. Families can speak with our team about any applicable fee relief, subject to current program eligibility and service arrangements.
