School Readiness Program

Ready for School. Ready for What Comes Next.

At Toongabbie Kids World, school readiness is about much more than letters and numbers. Our program supports children to develop the confidence, independence, resilience, social skills and love of learning that help make the transition to school a positive experience.

Led and supported by qualified Early Childhood Teachers, our play-based program is guided by the EYLF and recognises every child’s individual strengths, interests and stage of development.

Building Strong Foundations

Through play, intentional teaching and everyday experiences, we support children’s development in:

  • Early literacy and numeracy
  • Communication and language
  • Fine motor and pre-writing skills
  • Independence and self-help skills
  • Listening and participating in groups
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Friendships, cooperation and emotional regulation

Learning Through Play

Children learn best when they are engaged, curious and actively involved. Through projects, play, group experiences and everyday routines, children explore ideas, ask questions, solve problems and build confidence in their own abilities.

Confidence and Independence

We encourage children to make choices, take responsibility, manage everyday routines, build friendships, communicate their needs and develop resilience when faced with new challenges.

Supporting the Transition to School

Every child’s transition to school is different. We work closely with families to understand each child’s needs and celebrate their progress as they prepare for this important next step.

Families can also speak with our team about NSW Start Strong and any applicable preschool fee relief, subject to current program eligibility and service arrangements.

Because school readiness is not about recreating school — it is about building strong foundations for everything that comes next.
